Counter Strike - 1.6

Here i will explain a few tips for noobs so that they can improve fast (isn't thats what a beginner wants to improve fast lol). I love playing computer games you can say that i am addict. So i play a lot of Cs online so these are few suggestions i want to give to the newbies.

Alright so first of all just concentrate on the game lol that means play with your senses like you have radar to see your teammates position so if you hear a footsteps sound from the other end then be alert because thats the enemy whos coming.
If you are just starting with Cs then don't use flash as most of the times you end up flashing many of your teammates which interns gets you bad words from them. So is the case with HE grenades if friendly fire is on.
Use the CT or Ter Models as per the Map you are playing. As each map has a different texture so you can select model which is comparatively close to the texture or background.
Weapon are you a gunner or sniper i mean which one do you like? Like a gunner need more mouse sensitivity then sniper. So you should set the sensitivity accordingly.

Now the big question is how to get headshot evertime?

To do that you need to practice a lot. OMG thats a cool tip right isn't that what you are thinking?

But there is this one thing that might help you usually make a habit to point the gun pointer on the chest of your enemy while shooting. But this one is tricky because every gun is marginally different in terms of recoil. Like with Ak-47 (my fav) you shot aim for legs if you are spraying or aim for head when you are firing 1 or 2 bullet at a time. I will be adding a separate post just for weapons , where to point etc.

1). Setup page

2). goto status tab and checkout IP address....If IP address is 192.168.1.x (x could be anything from 1 to 254) then follow Step 3.1 ....... or if IP address is 0.0.0.0 then follow Step 3.2

3.1). IF IP: 192.168.1.x......Then just change the the ip address of your router from192.168.1.1 to something different like 192.168.5.1

3.2). IF IP: 0.0.0.0......Then just click on automatic configuration & change that to PPPoE. When you do that it will ak you for username & password there type in the username & password provided to you by your DSL internet provider.(username should be full like @verizon.net)

4). Status and checkout IP address : 64.155.246.47 or 192.168.1.1 .Now just try to go online. If you have any problem just do a powercycle & you will be online after that. That mean you are done just enjoy.

Note: After your are done with configuration its always better to Powercycle the system. You can always comment if you have any suggestion or problem.

Usually the reason why i am talking about NAT is that so many time when we connect Xbox-360, PS3 to router and try to connect to xbox live or ps network .

We get errors like your NAT settings are set to moderate change them to open and don't even have a clue wtf is NAT. And how to change that to open mode till that time you don't even know that NAT is there in your router. So first i will explain a bit about NAT.

So your router uses NAT to convert the public IP address into Private IP address. Public IP address is the ip we get from internet providers & Private IP address is the ip we use @ our home. Hence NAT converts them from public to private & vice versa. So that you can use your internet connection on all the computer & other devices like i-phones, wii, xbox, ps3.

As now you know a bit about NAT so now lets talk about how you can change that to open. To change NAT to open you just need to open some ports on your router usually for xbox just forward two ports --- 80,3074 .... & for PS3 tcp:80, 443, 5223 ...... udp:3478, 3479, 3658....

These are the port which you need to open on your router and one more thing i tested the port numbers my self they works so be sure that your Xbox as well as PS3 will work fine after you forward these ports.

NOTE: on router there is always one option to open all the ports for one device. DMZ always best to avoid that because that creates a balck hole in your seurity. So always best to open ports or trigger them but donot go for DMZ until needed.

How to Reset the Router

Reset

To reset the router just follow these three steps & you are done :-

So as per the figure above you will find a Red/Black button kinda small hole on the backside of the router. So Your job is to hold that for about 30-50 seconds but should not be more than 1 minute. While you are holding the reset button keep checking the power light it should blink that is the only sign that reset button is pressed properly. One last thing sometimes power light may not blink so be a bit gentle while pressing the button after all that's router man!!!
After you are done with that just unplug the power cable from the router. Wait for 10 seconds now plug power cable back again.
Now check the power light it should be steady. If power light is steady you are good to go.

That mean the reset was successful so just continue with whatever you were doning @ that time ;-)

First lets start with cable connection that means usually you are getting Internet via a cable line. That might not be the case in all the time but most of the time you have a cable line so that derives the name cable ISP. Ex:- Comcast, Cox, Mediacom, Suddenlink......

Then we have DSL usually with this type of connection you have a phone line. Ex:- AT&T, Verizon, Bell south.......

Last but not the least is satellite that means no cables from internet provider, you will be having a antena or dish to pick up the signal. Ex:-Skybeam

How to Open the Setup page of the Router

Just follow the steps below and you will be on the setup page in minutes.......

Physical Connections

1). We need to do the physical connections properly...so do that please connect the devices as below modem(ethernet port)......with cable......Router(Internet port)........with cable......Computer(if desktop then back of the tower)(or if laptop then connect the cable to the laptop).

IP Address

2).Now we need to check the IP_Address on the computer .>>>.. so to do that just click on Start ...>>>. then click on Control Panel,,>>>,, then click on Network Connections .... there you will find Local area connection (two computer icon) .>>>... right click on Local area connection then click on status there at the top you have two tabs .>>>.. general and support .>>>...click on support ... there in the second line you will find ip address number like ip address:192.168.1.100..sub mask:255.255.255.0...default gateway:192.168.1.1

3).Now just open the internet explorer and in the address bar just type the default gateway address in the address bar ....>>> and press enter you will get the username and password window>>> there leave the username blank and in the password typeadmin (this is default password) but if you have changed the router password then type that information in the password box.

Linksys Setup Page

4).Then you will be on the Linksys Setup Page and you can do the changes you want on the router. That's all. Now all we have to do is to just custumize setup as per our use.

Even after the steps if you are not ale to open the setup page just put a comment with error message like .. internet explorer can't display the website. Then i will reply to that with solution.

How to Powercycle Router

Power-cycle

First turn off all the computers or other devices which are connected to router like printer, i-phone or any other (as they are the end elements or users of the system)
Now turn off the router by unpluging the power cable from it. (This is intermediate element between modem and router)
Finally turn off the modem might be a cable or dsl modem. If the modem have battery backup do take out the batteries. (This is the primary equipment)

Now just wait for 1 minute. Hold your breath because modem releases IP after 30 to 45 seconds........

Now turn on modem first and wait till you have all lights lit on it... like on dsl modem...power,dsl,internet,ethernet & on cable modem .... power,internet,downstream,upstream,ethernet.
Afterward turn on router & just wait till power light is steady.
Finally turn on all the computers and other devices. And you are good to go.......

Now at last few reasons why you need to power cycle your system:-

You was online and somehow you lost the connection.
Speed is slow you can try this a first step. Can you believe this that it might resolve the issue.
After you are done setting up the router.

How to check IP Address

1). Using command prompt :-

Here i will explain with screenshot how to check ip with command prompt.

i)Start >>>> Run >>>> cmd (press OK)

Now we have command propt open, so just type following commands.

a). ipconfig/all - This command will give detail discription about all the network adapter like their physical address (Mac address), ip address, subnet mask, default gateway.

b). ipconfig/release - This command is used to return the ip address to DHCP - Server. What that mean's is that your ip address after the command will be IP Address: 0.0.0.0

c). ipconfig/renew - This command is used to renew the ip address. Like after 2nd command we have ip:0.0.0.0 , so when we type this command it will ask DHCP - Server for address so now the ip address will be like IP Address : 192.168.1.100 (just for example)

2). Using Network Connections :-

Here is how to check ip without command prompt, as that appear a bit technical....

A BitTorrent client is any program which implements the BitTorrent protocol. Each client is capable of preparing, requesting, and transmitting any type of computer file over a network, using the protocol. A peer is any computer running an instance of a client.To share a file or group of files, a peer first creates a "torrent." This is a small file which contains metadata about the files to be shared, and about the tracker, the computer that coordinates the file distribution. Peers that want to download the file first obtain a torrent file for it, and connect to the specified tracker which tells them from which other peers to download the pieces of the file.

Creating and publishing torrents:

BitTorrent greatly reduces the load on seeders, because clients for the most part download files from each other. In this animation, the coloured bars beneath all of the clients represent individual pieces of the file. After the initial pieces transfer from the seed, the pieces are individually transferred from client to client. This demonstrates how the original seeder only needs to send out one copy of the file for all the clients to receive a copy.

The peer distributing the file breaks it down into a number of pieces, typically about 256 kB each. Larger files are typically broken into larger pieces. For example, a 4.37-GB file may have a piece size of 4 MB (4096 kB). The peer creates a checksum for each piece, using a hashing algorithm, and records it in the torrent file. When a peer receives the piece, it compares the recorded checksum to the actual checksum of the received piece to make sure that it is error-free. [5] Peers that provide the complete file are called seeders, and the peer providing the initial copy is called the initial seeder.

The exact information contained in the torrent file depends on the version of the BitTorrent protocol. By convention, the name of a torrent file has the suffix .torrent. Torrent files contain an "announce" section, which specifies the URL of the tracker, and an "info" section which contains (suggested) names for the files, their lengths, the piece length used, and a SHA-1 hash code for each piece, which clients should use to verify the integrity of the data they receive.

The peer places a link to the file on a website or elsewhere, and registers it with a tracker. The tracker maintains lists of the clients currently participating in the torrent.[5] Alternatively, in a trackerless system (decentralized tracking) every peer acts as a tracker. It is implemented by the BitTorrent, µTorrent, BitComet and KTorrent clients through the distributed hash table (DHT) method. Azureus also supports a trackerless method but it is incompatible with the DHT offered by all other supporting clients.

In November 2006, BitTorrent Inc released a service that automatically creates a torrent file and tracks a download based on a website object. The service is located at http://www.bittorrent.com/publish.html and requires a client that supports web-seeding (currently only the official client and Azureus).

Downloading torrents and sharing files:

Users browse the web to find a torrent file of interest, download it and open it with a BitTorrent client program. The client connects to the tracker specified in the torrent file, which sends it a list of other peers currently downloading pieces of the file to be downloaded. The client connects to those peers to obtain the various pieces. Such a group of peers connected to each other to share a torrent is called a swarm. If the swarm contains only the initial seeder, the client connects directly to it and begins to request pieces. As peers enter the swarm, they begin to trade pieces with one another, instead of downloading directly from the seeder.

Clients incorporate mechanisms to optimize their download and upload rates; for example they download pieces in a random order, to increase the opportunity to exchange data, which is only possible if two peers have different pieces of the file.

The effectiveness of this data exchange depends largely on the policies that clients use to determine to whom to send data. Clients may prefer to send data to peers that send data back to them (a tit for tat scheme), which encourages fair trading. But strict policies often result in suboptimal situations, where newly joined peers are unable to receive any data (because they don't have any pieces yet to trade themselves) and two peers with a good connection between them do not exchange data simply because neither of them wants to take the initiative. To counter these effects, the official BitTorrent client program uses a mechanism called “optimistic unchoking,” where the client reserves a portion of its available bandwidth for sending pieces to random peers (not necessarily known-good partners, so called preferred peers), in hopes of discovering even better partners and to ensure that newcomers get a chance to join the swarm.

Comparison with other file sharing systems:

Though both ultimately transfer files over a network, a BitTorrent download differs from a classic full-file HTTP request in several fundamental ways. First, BitTorrent makes many small P2P requests over different TCP sockets, while web-browsers typically make a single HTTP GET request over a single TCP socket. Second, the BitTorrent protocol limits a client's download speed to roughly its upload speed, while HTTP gives no preferential treatment to cooperative nodes.[citation needed] And third, BitTorrent downloads in a random or "rarest-first" approach that ensures high availability, while HTTP downloads in a contiguous manner. Taken together, BitTorrent achieves much lower cost, much higher redundancy, and much greater resistance to abuse or "flash crowds" than a regular HTTP server. However, this protection comes at a cost: downloads take time to ramp up to full speed because these many peer connections take time to establish, and it takes time for a node to get sufficient data to become an effective uploader. As such, a typical BitTorrent download will gradually ramp up to very high speeds, and then slowly ramp back down toward the end of the download. This contrasts with an HTTP server that, while more vulnerable to overload and abuse, ramps up to full speed very quickly and maintains this speed throughout. Furthermore, BitTorrent's non-contiguous download methods prevent it from supporting "progressive downloads" or "streaming playback," as is possible with HTTP.

The method used by BitTorrent to distribute files parallels the method used by the eDonkey2000 network, but nodes in eDonkey's file sharing network usually share and download a much larger number of files, making the bandwidth available to each transfer much smaller. While the original eDonkey2000 client provided little "leech resistance," most new clients have some sort of system to encourage uploaders. eMule, for example, has a credits system whereby a client rewards other clients that upload to it by increasing their priority in its queue. However, the nature of the eDonkey2000 concept means download speeds tend to be much more variable, although the number of available files is far greater.

A similar method to BitTorrent was the Participation Level introduced in Kazaa in 2002. A user's Participation Level would increase when they uploaded and decrease when they downloaded. Then when a user uploaded a file, the person with the highest Participation Level would get it first, then the next highest, and so on. This can be visualised as a pyramid, with the clients who have the most upload bandwidth available at the top and those with less bandwidth on progressively lower levels. This is the most efficient way to distribute a file to a large number of users: it is probable that even the people at the bottom of the pyramid will get the file faster than if the file was served by a non-P2P method. Unfortunately the Kazaa implementation is flawed as it relies on the client accurately reporting their Participation Level, making it easy to cheat using one of the many unofficial clients.

It sharpens your reflexes, and instant decision making ( decide within a second whether to go left or right? etc.) And enhances manual dexterity.

And with that you can relax and recreate to start your normal work up again.

This is also a add on to your communication when you play in a clan as you have to keep in touch with the members.

And most importantly this is like a real life experience when you play a game with passion. Because normally i cancel a bit other minor things for the game.

You can practice your specific weapon skills by play some small map build for specific weapon

1. Map name : awp_map_fair to improve your sniping skills. Try only using the sniper in this

game and 1 more thing usually u are not allowed to add a bot in this map that means you need a friend to continue. But hey you can try other map like de_aztec but as i stated earlier that only use sniper.

2. Map : cs_untitled2 , this map is small and quiet a fun. You can practice pistols and guns(any)

and same as the earlier map that you can't add a bot. So can go for any big strategic map like de_dust2, de_dust. This will add on to your inner clan communication and strategy.

Burst Fire

Because Counter-Strike tries to simulate the recoil of actual guns, the longer you hold down the trigger the less accurate your rounds become. Unless you are at point blank range, after the first few shots you will likely just be blasting ammunition into the wild blue yonder, well over the heads of the enemy. To prevent this, and make your ammo count for something, it is a common practice in Counter-Strike to fire in short bursts of only two or three rounds, giving you a chance steady up for the next shot.

Compensate for Recoil

It may seem like common sense, but if you know that your weapon is going to recoil, it helps to compensate for it as best you can, typically by aiming down a little. Of course, the longer you press the trigger, the more difficult it will become to compensate adequately, so this is most effective when combined with burst fire as described above.

Plan Your Reloads

Reloading is one of the elements that differentiates Counter-Strike from some of the earlier FPSes. When your gun runs out of ammo, you must replace the clip, and although this can be done quite quickly, it often makes the difference between life and death. Try not to jump into an O.K. When you're in an open area or you know there are snipers targeting you, it's important to move around as much and as unpredictably as possible. Jumping, but not too regularly, can force the enemy to aim vertically as well as horizontally, or it can, if you're lucky, turn what would have been a head shot into something a little less damaging. That said, some players are prone to jumping continuously, even when out of harm's way, which can make you look like an idiot.

Chapter-1

How to Jump

To do strafe-jumping in the right way you have to consider several things. To do a correct jump the movement of mouse and keyboard has to be nearly synchronal the only difference is that the interruption is only allowed to be some milliseconds.
Example: A Jump to the left contains a short forward movement with a following jump and a sequencing mouse turn together with they key for strafing to the left. In this way you do a kind of bow in the air.This method, if it’s used for both directions one after another ends in strafe jumping. You should know that you are not allowed to use the duck-key and only for the first jump the forward-movement-key. The rest is only the combined to and fro jumping.
Example: First, run forward - jump - move your mouse in 90 degrees to left and your left strafe button, too. And do not use "+duck" in this jump. You have only run forward on the beginning of the jump, the rest is the mouse and keyboard combination.

Aim, Move, Be Silent

How to aim- To aim in the right way you should pick certain edges at a map for practice. On these you aim at and move at the same time all around the map and try to keep your crosshair at your target. You can also practice on different edges and corners. Aim in short intervalls at many edges at a map or at all corners of entrances to appraise the distance and the used distance ond your pad the right way.
How to move- To move quick and in the right way it is really important to combine the movement of your mouse with the keyboard actions. A simple side-strafe is weak and slow but it can be fastend by quick mouse actions. You will move quicker and better if you combine mouse and keyboard actions and improve them.
How to be silent- Some areas on the Counter-Strike Maps have some little allowed bugs. You can use some places for "surfing" or "faking sounds".
